“Georgian Chanting” Foundation and Georgian parishes in Western Europe support a new student employment project.

From January 4th till February 4th of 2018 year, the student of Giorgi Mtatsmindeli Higher Educational Institution of Ecclesiastical Chant, Zaza Zuriashvili will teach Georgian Chant and national musical instruments to the Chant and Folk Song Choir in the St. Nino Georgian Orthodox Parish, Italy, Florence.

The goal of the project is to support folk and chanting choirs in the regions of Georgia, to enrich their repertory.

The students choir of Giorgi Mtatsmindeli High Educational Institution of Ecclesiastical Chant will participate in the BUSKERS FESTIVAL, NEUCHÂTEL which will be held from 8-12 July, 2017.

In the middle of August each year, fifteen guest groups (or almost sixty musicians) take up residence at Neuchâtel for five days. No stage, no sound systems and no light shows – the groups simply perform with 'natural acoustics'. This festival offers a chance to share special moments in a friendly atmosphere - an occasion for peaceful relaxation and enjoyment. The audience ranges from tiny tots to their grandparents, and from classical music enthusiasts to rock fans.

Joseph Jordania – Doctor of Philosophy and Musicology, Professor of Tbilisi State Conservatoire, citizen of Georgia and Australia, has lived in Australia since 1995, Honorary Fellow at the Melbourne Conservatorium, his works are published in Georgian, English, French, Spanish, Finnish, Chinese, Bulgarian, Russian languages. His monograph “Who asked First Question?” was awarded Fumio Koizumi Prize for ethnomusicology.
